Imaginative Me

“My hand is the extension of the thinking process – the creative process.”
Tadao Ando

Hello there! Welcome to my photography/design blog! I am Heather Cundiff; I try to think creatively as I approach every aspect of my life.

How did it all begin? I have come a long way from my middle school days of making elaborate collages all over my bedroom walls. I went on to high school to be a part of the yearbook staff, becoming one of the editors by my senior year. I enjoyed experimenting with layouts and starting to manipulate photographs. I excelled as a photographer on Eastern Kentucky University’s yearbook staff and served as the photo editor during my senior year.

Where was I encouraged? I was undecided on a major in college until I took my first art class with my brother (who was always the “artist” in the family). I could not believe that I could actually draw! I had never really tried to analyze an object in order to capture it on paper. From then on, I could not get enough of the Campbell (art) building at EKU in Richmond, KY. From photography and painting to sculpture and ceramics, what’s not to love? I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design. After college I started my small business, Cundiff Creative, doing small photo shoots and freelance graphic design work. It helped me build a portfolio and discover myself. Most of all, it gave me the confidence to make a huge change in my life.

Where am I now? I recently moved to the North End of Boston, Massachusetts. I am currently pursuing photography and graphic design outside of the small town of Liberty, Kentucky. I work at Fenway Park as a fan photographer for the Red Sox. I love to share my adventures through photography on my blog and I hope you will follow along. My blog is a mixture of paid shoots and photos I take when I am out and about with my camera, I rarely go anywhere without it.
