A Sprinkle of Spring

Chris and I were thrilled to take a break this week and indulge in some springtime activities right at home. We were eager to begin some home improvement projects, replenish our energy, and simply relax. A highlight of our staycation was our visit to the enchanting Lexington Cemetery, known for its rich history, mesmerizing landscape, and exquisite spring blooms. As we strolled through this 175-year-old cemetery, we were captivated by the vibrant colors of the blossoming trees and the breathtaking natural allure. The graveyard is adorned with dogwoods, colorful crab apples, ornamental magnolias, and delicate pink weeping cherries. This extraordinary cemetery spans 170 acres and is recognized as a national arboretum, boasting over 200 species of trees.

Our experience began with a tranquil morning drive through the cemetery, followed by a delectable lunch at Bankok House. I even found myself facing off with a defensive goose. Although I attempted to maintain a safe distance, one startled goose took flight and made an attempt to approach me!
