Sitka was a picturesque fishing town that provided a free shuttle from the boat docking area into the heart of downtown. We wandered the walking paths, shopped at the numerous downtown shops, grabbed lunch at The Beak for something different, and then returned to the boat.

Photos at the bottom are from the few nights we attempted to go outside to view the aurora borealis. We each had a habit of waking up in the middle of the night and finding it difficult to fall asleep. So a few nights, we decided to check it out just to see. We were not lucky enough to view but some prominent nights made for spectacular stargazing.
