Day 2: Infinite Oddities

After a mostly restful night of camping in Lake Kegonsa State Park, we ventured to House on the Rock, Wisconsin. We had a completely dry camp night, packed to leave, and the rain began shortly after. It stormed the entire time we explored The House on the Rock, but thankfully stopped by the time we left!
This was my second visit to this house of eccentric oddities, and Chris’s first. If you haven’t been, it’s worth the trip. My first visit left me feeling like I had endured a fever dream nightmare. The house takes two to three hours to explore and is beyond explanation. I encourage you to read more to get a better idea of its history and expanse. The photos don’t do it justice, so we both just stopped trying to capture it.
As we were exploring, Chris realised we were just a few hours from a common childhood vacation spot. So, we decided to head north to Door Peninsula.
Door Peninsula is known for its scenic beauty, lighthouses, cherry orchards, and coastal towns. We booked a condo in the heart of everything and began exploring!
