Psalm 28:7 (KJV)
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”
Last Sunday at Liberty First Christian Church, where I am a member, we were blessed with a captivating ministry. While our minister, Homer Hecht, was on a family vacation, we were able to schedule the special guests, Driven, to share their musical talent. Although they do not considered themselves to be “performers,” I was so engrossed during the entire first song, I was unable to take a single photograph.
Driven is a Gospel Music group based out of Russell Springs, Kentucky, though they tour all over the state. Their musical style incorporates traditional southern and contemporary gospel. They aspire to appeal to both youth and the older generations. While taking the stage, they are on a mission from God through their song. They sing beautifully, play their instruments with an alluring quality, and share testimony. They are determined to “reach the unreachable.” Since “music is the key to the soul,” I’m sure these melodic tunes, inspired by grace, can penetrate the heart of anyone who is willing to receive the gift.
Band members include: Adam Hill (lead vocals), Benny Judd (drums), Greg Nelson (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica), Jason Montgomery (keyboard/B3), Jeremy Edwards (lead guitar, acoustic, vocals), and Don Sidebottom (bass guitar)
Driven Will be performing with The Isaacs
