The Red Sox Win the 2013 World Series in Game 6 on October 30th.

When the baseball postseason began, I immediately bought a one-way ticket to Boston and booked a room at the Hotel Buckminster in Kenmore Square, right next to Fenway. As some of you may know, I worked at Fenway Park for about a year; spanning the end of the 100 Year Anniversary season and the beginning of the 2013 season. Watching the Red Sox build and grow from the bottom ranked team last year to a truly competitive team this year was incredible. I worked at Fenway Park on Marathon Monday and experienced the city of Boston in one of its saddest days in history.

I was fully confident that the Red Sox would win the World Series after the year that Boston experienced. It simply made sense to me. Not only did I make my  one way travel plans about a month before the Sox were in the World Series, I purchased a ticket to Game 6 while they were playing game 2 of the Series. I just knew that they were going to win it all and I was going to be there.

I adjusted my return plans to include witnessing the Rolling Rally Duck Parade through Boston. The day of the parade was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It felt like the whole city was headed to a game, everyone wearing their favorite Sox gear. The excitement in the air felt so redeeming after the sad and frightening atmosphere following the Boston Bombings.

It is still surreal that I was able to be in the city of Boston and attend Game 6 to see the Boston Red Sox become 2013 World Champions!
